Developer infrastructure
Billing, observability, background jobs, session replay, database interfaces — the unglamorous layer that every engineering team eventually needs. We've built in this space and we understand why it's hard.
How We Think
Most of our portfolio companies started as side projects, open-source tools, or internal tools founders built at other companies. We look for that origin story — the problem that was urgent enough to make someone build something for themselves first.
Billing, observability, background jobs, session replay, database interfaces — the unglamorous layer that every engineering team eventually needs. We've built in this space and we understand why it's hard.
More than half our portfolio started open-source or has an open-source core. We believe the distribution advantage of open-source is underpriced at pre-seed. Community trust converts — we've seen it firsthand.
Not "technical co-founder on the team." We mean founders who have personally shipped production code in the space they're entering. Product intuition that comes from lived experience, not research.
We write first checks. That means pre-product, pre-revenue, sometimes pre-team-complete. We're comfortable with ambiguity at this stage because we've been the founders in that position. Fund I is deploying now.
We don't invest in consumer apps, hardware, biotech, or fintech-only. If your primary customer is not a developer or engineering team, we're probably not the right first check.
We're small on purpose.
Inprimio Fund I is $35M. That means we can't lead a $25M round, and we won't pretend otherwise. We're best at the moment before the round is oversubscribed — first conviction, first money.
We don't have a massive network for follow-on.
We can make introductions and we will. But if your model requires warm intros to every major growth-equity firm on the East Coast, there are better-connected first checks. We're honest about that.
We're operators, not operators-turned-GPs who do 50 deals a year.
We move deliberately. Eight investments over three years. We'd rather know your codebase than your cap table.
Send us a note. Two paragraphs is fine — what you're building, who you are, why now. We respond to everything.
